Ben's Busy Blog
My personal online journal of daily accomplishments and setbacks
Monday Wrap-UpMonday, April 30, 2007
I woke up rather groggy today, but I managed to drag my butt out of bed. The LotR:O send-off ran rather late. So late that when I did blog, I forgot that I'd already laid in a rough draft already, and just pooped out what I could. The tiredness was a bear this morning too. I watched the end of a Battlestar Galactica episode in a rather vegetative state. I started another and hopped on the bike. I'm still having problems getting back to where I was before my time off. I think that if I stick with it though, recovery will come rather quickly. Unfortunately today wasn't the day, as the Luna Lofts lady called back about 10 minutes into my ride. There's some disconnect on prices there. My dear synesthete wife had quoted prices to me earlier in the week. Now when we talked to this lady, she said that the actual price was something higher, but that she could come down to the price we thought it was. Puh-leeze. I don't think she quite knows how to play knifey-spoony. I think we're gonna wind up somewhere else
Did a load of laundry. I would have been able to do more, if one of the washers hadn't been occupied by orphan laundry.
I installed another A/C unit. Had to screw another 2x4 to the windowsill in order to assure that the A/C was tilted outwards. Our first summer, it was quite a mess when the water came in through the windowsill.
I've put a few more albums up on Picasa. I even emailed Jeffrey Rowland about the photo set with the Joanna clone
Our bathroom radiator has a thick skin of paint on it, so much so that simply tossing paint on it won't disguise the embossed edges of a paint chip. With an eye towards prettifying the place for our departure, I used some spackle to hide those edges today. Painting will come eventually.
We drove down to the Verizon store at the Waterfront, intending to set me up with Nat's old phone to replace my crapwad dead phone. I wish I'd had a warranty. Anyway, the trip was a waste, because it turns out that you can do it yourself at home for free. It took me about 45 minutes... if you include the 40 minutes spent trying to find the hidden f***ing page. Anyway, while we were down there, we stopped by Target, CostCo and PetCo. Traffic sucked.
Then we stopped by Borders for an hour and a half on the way home.
After we got home, I got into researching how to limit my internet addiction via firewall and/or router rules. Looks like it'll be doable, but I'll have to assign an IP address to ol' Tommy here. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be able to whitelist pages after blanket blocking. I'll have to see what the precedence of rules are on my router.
Later I got myself set up on Natty's old phone. Aside from the time wasted trying to find the arcane account management offshoot page, I spent some time trying to see if I could set the phone up for sync'ing with the computer. I got pretty far with hacking it, until I was supposed to purchase/pirate a $30 piece of Motorola software. I gave up at that point, but I'd sank in the better part of an hour already. Also, I got screwed up because Nat couldn't remember what the magic security code for wiping off her phone. Science eventually prevailed. I love her, but six zeroes do not four ones make.
Anyway, with phone working, I killed the rest of the night b/s'ing with Dave, while posting a few old PS1 games up on Goozex. Surprisingly, I didn't play any videogames today. What's more, I might just even be getting back into that game programming concept I once desired.
Oh, and I should get a job. Ugh.
Anyway, off to bed and watching Venture Bros with Natty. I found season 2 finally at Target! (they'd been sold out previously)
And now, your moment of Ben

Sunday Wrap-Up
I am getting to bed very late, despite good intentions... again.
Tonight's got an interesting twist though. I described my feelings on my life to Nat via a snippet of poorly recalled song lyrics. She googled them, and instead found this plea for help at Salon.com. I highly recommend the read, but you absolutely should also read the editor's choice of replies. There's a lot of people who have been in my situation: near 30 and at a loss for where they're going. There are some good ideas here.
Oh, and I'd thought about applying to law school. Kinda pointless to worry over that, as both Duquesne and Pitt are long past application possibilities. Well, the Duq law school app has to be postmarked for May 1st, but I'd need LSAT's.
Anyway, at this point of the night, I have a very poor recollection of what occurred of importance, but I can say a few things. Nat and I took a nice walk. I uninstalled LOTRO. Soul searching. Yeah

Today was a longer day than intended. There was a visit to the Western School that ran over by a few hours. There was an abortive attempt to arrive late to my nephew's confirmation party. That attempt only died after we were trapped in traffic. The night ended with a complete binge of Nat, Dave and I playing LotR:O. That game is the devil!
Thank god I've only got a 10 day temporary account.
Oh, and an Jewish ex-divorce-lawyer who now interviews applicants says that I look like Joaquin Phoenix. Furthermore Lean on Me is the one with the teacher, and Stand by Me is the one with the dead body by the railroad tracks.

Friday Wrap-UpSaturday, April 28, 2007
Well, I finally figured out why I've been blogging so poorly this week. It should have been obvious that by getting up earlier, but not getting to bed earlier, I was leaving myself without enough sleep. I'm not going to drag this out too much tonight.
I think I performed poorly today. I played a lot of Viva Pinata. Natty got me playing LotR:O and that sucked up a lot of time. I was just tired.
At least the door got a base coat painted on it today... by Natty. At my pressing though.
Anyway, this is pathetic. We'll just count this as a weekend day, so it's not horrible, I guess.

Thursday Wrap-UpThursday, April 26, 2007
I dragged my butt out of bed a little past nine this morning. The ongoing creep backwards to a workday wake-up hour is ongoing and sucks.
After moving the car, I biked for a bit. As expected, my stamina was crap, but that wasn't why I stopped before I reached 15 minutes. At about 12 minutes in, I started getting a spot ache in my right bicep, directly above the blood donation site from earlier in the week. With images of a mobilized blood clot dancing in my head, I quit out.
Since the living room DVD player is apparently kaput, I maneuvered the Xbox 360 around so it's IR receiver was visible for the remote I'd picked up for $6 at the Exchange. Due to the stupidly short cord between the power brick and the Xbox itself, I had to spend a long time reaching behind and under the entertainment center plugging and unplugging while I moved cords around.
I ran a couple more loads of laundry. Folded and put away with some help from Natty.
We viewed a few different lofts. The first was very well kept and had some really nice features, but there's something that both Nat and I found very uncomfortable. It was something other than the small size of the place. The next one turned out to be an altogether disappointment. The renovation work done on it was shoddy, materials were cheap, and the appliances were outright crap. We were disappointed.
We dropped by the house for little more than a half hour, during which we finished folding the laundry. I also lugged the gas can out to the car and topped it off. Ahhh, dragging out the time between fill ups, in order to score better Fuel Perks for the eventual fill-ups.
Later we headed on up to Kittanning to have my wedding band resized. We set off at 4 PM, and the hour drive instead took almost two. Luckily the ring was resized quickly. Afterwards we had dinner with Uncle John.
I don't know what all I've been up to since then. Kinda tired and spacing out. Going to let my blog rest on the stuff that I got in here earlier.

Wednesday Wrap-Up
Ugh, I seem to be getting into a string of rather poor blog postings lately. I know I don't feel much of an inclination tonight for dredging up what all I've been doing today, but as I think on it, I am slowly remembering. Warning: Chronology will be poor amongst the following.
I got off to an early start, waking up before my alarm to Nat asking if I needed to move my car. Last night, I'd intended to risk waiting until my alarm's due process, but instead I lugged my weary ass off to move the vehicle to where it wouldn't be ticketed. When I returned, I made the fatal error of eating my breakfast at the computer, where I wound up losing hours to reading about the Megami Tensei series, and other such useless information.
Gathered, sorted, washed, dried and folded two loads of laundry. More has been primed for washing tomorrow.
Picked up the house a bit. The living room had been left a bit of a wreck after installing the A/C, then running out to donate blood and returning home exhausted.
Emptied garbage cans, replacing can liners. Put garbage in can on deck for a dumpster trip on a less rainy day.
We were shown a nice loft or two. We've got another one scheduled for tomorrow.
Afterwards we headed out to the South Hills Mall to review the status of our registry. On the way, I had a long conversation with Nat about our future. She really wants to move to Britain and had some really good points. She's very motivated about this, while I'm... afraid, but without useful objection I guess.
We shopped. I finally found a pair of sandals I liked, and paid a high dollar, but I know that I will wear the crap out of those things, so I might as well pay up. Especially since I've had a hard time shopping because I was picky: Leather with a heel strap, grippy sole, and NO VELCRO! ("NO VELCRO" apparently being an unreasonable thing for an adult male)
Anyway, enough. It was a middling productive day and I'm tired. L8r
* Oddly enough, when I first typed this sentence, I'd replaced "eating my breakfast" with "reading my email". Make your own conjectures about my information consumption folks.

Tuesday Wrap-UpWednesday, April 25, 2007
Okay, I'm beat. I did the double red blood cell donation. I got the A/C installed in the living room, which required cutting down a piece of wood to serve as a support, organizing the box of loose screws, and... I dunno some other crap.
Honestly, tonight's entry is utter crap. Admitting it does not excuse it, but at the same time, I don't feel guilty. Screw it, I'm hitting the hay and trying again tomorrow.

Monday Wrap-UpMonday, April 23, 2007
Well, I'll be getting up earlier. Today my car got ticketed because I slept in too late. Bill, the handiman, had been low in my conceptions after dealing with him for various treasurer-related things. When I came down to move my car, he actually apologized that he hadn't gotten out in time to put a quarter in the meter when the meter-maid was there. Apparently he's been dropping one in for me whenever she was near. I don't know what to say, but I'm going to have to try to make sure that the dude gets an Xmas bonus from us.
Bought a paper and skimmed it for jobs. That will be the last time I grab a non-Sunday paper for that purpose. It was pretty much worthless.
Having received another this morning due to sleeping in, I paid off a few of my parking tickets online.
After that I paid a few bills online, leaving a few until funds have been moved around to pay for them.
Next Nattie and I ventured to Pittsburgh's scenic Southside on errands. Well, actually we were on our way to Station Square to pick up our gift certificate for our wedding planner, but the Southside came first because we wanted to stop by the costume store. Once upon a time I bought a pair of Elvis sunglasses there as a gag, but wound up finding that they made excellent driving glasses, as they were amber-tinted and wrap-around. The other day the damned things just broke in two with nary a warning and at hardly a push. This after a year of good service. Anyway, we decided to park at the far end of the Southside and walked the whole way down. Nat and I are walking so much lately.
It's really rather bittersweet. I took time off from work to help Nat get better. Now that she's better, I have to get back on the job again, but now that she's better... I am really honestly, deeply and truly enjoying our time together. I was happy before, but now that she's feeling energetic again and full of suggestions for going out and living our lives... it's wonderful :)
And now I've got to go and ruin it by finding work again. *sigh* Like that needs to be any harder?
Anyway, I didn't finish putting the A/C in again today. When we finally got home, I wound up spending at least an hour in the kitchen cooking, and then an hour enjoying the meal and relaxing. After that, I went into the bedroom with Nat to hook up the DVD player. Nat took a seat on the bed as she shoe'd herself for going to the grocery store. When she bent over though, she got a back cramp. I lunged over to catch her, but instead I whacked my knee on the corner of the box spring. It got me right on that tender tendon beneath the kneecap. I flopped on the floor cursing. It doesn't hurt so much now, but it's really stiff, despite stretching. After hurting myself, I just decided I would banish productivity to hell for the night.
But I am going to try to get up earlier. Today's (literal) wake up call was a (proverbial) wake up call.

Sunday Wrap-Up
Hrm, what to say about today? I slept in after the late night last night. We went for a long walk. Nat's mom came over. I played too much Viva Pinata. Brought the A/C up from the basement.
All in all, it wasn't a very productive day, but it still felt rather like it's the weekend. Let's hope tomorrow heralds a return to some sort of order

Saturday Wrap-UpSunday, April 22, 2007
In a fit of self-righteous indignance, I spent the day selfishly slothful. Some things were done, but for reasons I haven't defined yet, I just didn't do anything and very justified in doing so. That'll cover it for the night
Friday Wrap-UpFriday, April 20, 2007
Vacuumed house from front to back thoroughly. This includes going over the various pieces of cat furniture with the extension, and going around the crevices around the edge of the glass plate that forms the top of the dining room table. I also emptied the cat boxes and redistributed the weighty cat litter stores between the two kitty poop points.
As for time spent in leisure, I screwed around on Goozex and GamezNFlix for a bit. I've also been reading through the New Sun book that Dave left for me. The language can be a bit of an impedance, but after a while you learn to roll with it.
We got an email from our wedding photographer today. They've posted proofs of our photos in their secured website. I think Nat and I must have spent hours just flipping through. Sure, there are shots that don't work out, but over all it is amazing. We had the best time seeing ourselves and all of our friends and family so happy. It was like reliving the best parts of our wedding day all over again. It was muy happy.
Nat and I went down to the Waterfront for some shopping. Over the last few months we've been pretty busy with illness and the wedding, so this was the first time we'd gotten to do anything like this. Over the course of a few hours, we wound up buying a lot of odds and ends. Some things we needed direly. Some were just replenishments for perishables. Some things weren't explicitly necessary, but trust me, we'll be using the filing boxes and USB hub for years.
Anyway, I also played a bit of Saints Row tonight. Were I to give an opinion, I would say "Meh", but to be honest, it doesn't draw a strong enough reaction out of me to even make me say that. I think I'd have to label it as a workman-like rendition of the GTA formula. It accomplishes all of the necessary points and extends the basic formula in the obvious ways that one would expect a next-gen game... but it lacks that spark. You want to complement them on their good code, but then you don't care much further. I suppose "Very nice, but forgettable" sums it up nicely.

Thursday Wrap-UpThursday, April 19, 2007
Today was another slow-minded day, but I'm seeing my productivity slowly increase. I really did just need some time to recover from the wedding, not just mentally, but also setting my house in order. The need to reassess life goals has also been a pain. I'm having trouble figuring out what to do with my life. Also I've been trying to build my life around Nat's needs, but she wants to build her life around my needs. I don't know how to work that out without talking with some impartial third party.
I finally got around to paying for my digital vault of choice. It's been really useful for keeping track of a lot of information. For example, I stored the MAC address information for our different networked appliances around the apartment.
Next I spent some time storing credit card information into my digital vault, especially that 'if lost' phone number. While I was doing this, I found that my old backup high-limit credit card had expired back in January and I hadn't received any follow-up about this. When I called about this, it got even more confusing as my account had been blocked as negligent, since I owed an unpaid balance of about $20 for five months running. Thus I embarked on a joyful telephonic excursion to get this all straightened out.
I called my current mutual fund advisor and had them liquidate my mutual funds to the money market account, so that they'll be ready for the new investment scheme that we've been set up with via Nat's father's connection. If we were just nobody, we wouldn't be able to get in on this sort of deal. It's a reminder of how riches are self-perpetuating, and there really is a glass ceiling for everybody of lower class caste. Ugh. The world sucks sometimes. I'm a lucky guy.
I took another test in the book, but haven't graded it yet. I also had to take some time to transfer the previous test's results to the Excel spreadsheet that I'm working with. I'm not expecting this book to realign my chakras or anything. I just hope it gives me some better ideas than what I've got already.
Hmm, what do I have already for ideas? After thinking about it for a second, I suppose that my decisions can be divided into a short term game and a long term. Right now I could go back to my dead-end career in IT, or I could take the highest paying job doing damn near anything, or I could start climbing the ladder in some as-yet-unknown new career choice. Option 1 feels like a waste of my life. Option 2 kinda scares me (which is probably a reasonable reaction). Option 3 is pending on what I decide to do in the long run. The glorious confusion of all of this shit, I suppose, is that I can start doing any of these things, then jump ship and try something different. In that case then, I guess I should start scanning the listings and get a random job... A freeing and yet unsettling idea.
As for the long term? I don't know, but I think I should work out the short-term ideas first.

Wednesday Wrap-Up
Well, I'm posting a lot later than I'd planned. I've made a goal for myself to get off the Xbox (or whatever game system) by 11:30 PM. Then I'm also to be off the computer and blogged by midnight. Good goals... I just totally blew through them tonight.
There was a good reason for staying up late. Tonight Dave and I bid a fond farewell to Crackdown. We've both earned more than our original $60 investment from it, but the Halo 3 beta is pending and people are foaming at the mouth. Furthermore, Crackdown is just a nasty timesink. It's so easy to get caught up playing it for hours. Well, no more. I ship it out to a happy Goozex customer tomorrow. Speaking of Goozex, I should start trying to get something using all that credit I've been earning. Hrm, where's that list of games to play...?
Anyway, today I gathered and took out the remaining trash, including cleaning out the fridge. I also sopped the wastewater out of the basin at the bottom of the fridge again. Ugh. The dishwasher got emptied.
Nat and I went through the wedding cards and opened all of them. Then I compiled an Excel spreadsheet of our gift-givers.
I've uploaded the wedding photos from our personal camera on Picasa. Dom's pictures are up there too.
Anyway, not much more of interest was achieved today, aside from Nonami falling asleep on my lap. I'm still trying to re-establish order in my life.

Tuesday Wrap-UpTuesday, April 17, 2007
Well, today didn't live up to the productivity I'd hoped for, but when I spoke with my mother tonight, she too was still recovering from the wedding. Anyway, we met with the financial planner today. That went really well. On the way back we stopped by Kohls, which was having a really good sale. I picked up a Dickies windbreaker for $9! Aside from that, I tried cleaning up the house a bit.
Oh, and it turns out that my wedding ring's going to have to be re-sized. I've got it on my necklace around my neck. Per Dave's very sensible suggestion, I'll try fixing it temporarily with some wound string after I'm done bloggering. Heheh, "bloggering" I think I'll keep that typo

Monday (and Wedding Weekend) Wrap-Up
Sooo... I've officially made an honest woman out of the most wonderful girl in the world. The bills are scary, but the wedding was more than worth it. Everybody had a wonderful time, it seems. Tomorrow the real world sets in again; something which I view with some trepidation.
In the meantime, enjoy the first pictures!

Thursday Wrap-UpFriday, April 13, 2007
The wedding grows ever closer!
Today got off to a rough start when I awoke early due to a f'd up dream. It had been relatively mundane. The last thing occurring was my cousin, whom I haven't seen in years, was showing off to me his special gig bag, which allowed him to carry two guitars at once. All of a sudden I felt this pressure on the side of my head. My fingers probed the site and I started freaking out. A glance in the nearby mirror revealed that I had an inch diameter hole in the side of my head, just in front of my ear. The indentation was over an inch deep and was lined with my bloody skin. My dream voice went high-pitched as I panicked, shouting "Call 911!! 911! 911 now!"
From behind me, I heard my dead father voicing confusion. "What?!"
I screeched at him to look at me, but he was just confused. Then I looked at him, and he couldn't see my bloody head because his eyelids were sunken and sewn shut.
Yeah, I woke right up from that mindfucker. Couldn't get back to sleep either.
Anyway, through the day I went out on errands with Nat, getting wedding stuff together. Screw details, I only want to talk about the dream tonight. I've got a wedding in two days, so I'm playing fast and loose with my blog and I don't mind.

Wednesday Wrap-UpThursday, April 12, 2007
Dave was in a car wreck tonight. He's alright, but it wound up taking up a good deal of the evening. Otherwise Nat and I worked on some wedding stuff, but I mostly took it easy, feeling rather off. We also went to Borders earlier in the day and I picked up a career diagnostic testing book. Why not try it?
Anyway, g'night

Tuesday Wrap-UpWednesday, April 11, 2007
I'm going to be very lazy with my wrap-up for today, since the wedding's just a few days away. Nat met with her father finally. I just cooled my heels in a Panera for a while, giving them their space. Surprisingly enough, it went over without a fight. Afterwards, she and I went out shopping for gifts for our attendants. I also did a couple loads of laundry. The anticipation for seeing her dad pretty much wasted us with tension for the day.
Monday Wrap-UpTuesday, April 10, 2007
Well today was a productive day. We rose late, but I figure that the rest was needed. I'm feeling better, but still not completely cured. Nat and I ran downtown and picked up our marriage license. On the way back we stopped in Shadyside, as Nat needed to get some specialty makeup to cover up scars on her pale skin. I grabbed a coffee while she was getting makeup counselling. Next we went over to Kawaii Gifts, where Natty shopped while I was trapped on the phone with Rich's phoned-in computer troubles.
After we got home, I gathered up all of the trash and recycling, then disposed of it, which was a bit of a task given our situation of late. Next I collected the dishes that had accumulated everywhere and filled up the dishwasher.
Oh and we also took a several separate trips to the grocery store for various things.
Later we met with Erin for a good long while. After which we took one more trip to the store. Afterwards I gassed up the car, then relaxed for the last hour or two of the night

Easter Sunday Wrap-UpMonday, April 09, 2007
Well, today started off a bit late, as Dave and I were up late goofing around with Magic. Due to join his parents at church, Dave departed before Nathalie and I arose. For us then, it was off to Mom's for Easter. Afterwards we stopped by Dave's house to see his family, and then we came home again. We tangled with music selection, filling in our violinist/DJ's poorly constructed multiple worksheets, and discovering that our DIY placecards evidently aren't laser-printer friendly. Oh, and I finished my taxes. Anyway, after that I played Half-Life 2 for under an hour, and now it's off to bed.
Tomorrow will be unrelentingly fruitful. Ugh.

Saturday Wrap-UpSunday, April 08, 2007
After the late night casual bachelor party out with the guys last night, I slept in late. Then today was mostly spent hanging out with Dave, since this is the only quiet day I get to hang out with him before the wedding. Not only did we play a crapload of videogames, we actually tried out my old Magic the Gathering cards. That was kinda fun.
Oh, and I took a look at some good books at Borders. I'm going to pick up the one math and physics book.

Friday Wrap-UpFriday, April 06, 2007
Today is a day off. I'm going to try to have a bachelor party tonight. Hope it doesn't turn out sad!
Thursday Wrap-Up
Today I felt ill. I took my antibiotics. Worked on wedding stuff a bit. SLept a lot. Played a lot of Viva Pinata
Wednesday Wrap-UpWednesday, April 04, 2007
Huzzah, amidst all this, I am sick. I seem to have a sinus infection and am completely exhausted. I'll be downing my Keflex and keeping my fingers crossed.
Today we drove out to meet with our officiant out one side of the city. After meeting with him for an hour, we picked up some dishes that will be part of our centerpieces. Then we went to the other side of the city to pick up Nat's wedding dress after it's second downsizing (colour her happy). After that we went prospecting for gifts for our attendants.
After that we came home. Despite getting to bed early and waking up late, I immediately took a nap for an hour or more. Nat's been really sweet on me, taking care of me while I took it easy tonight. I did handle a few phone calls over the course of the day, getting things in a row. Thankfully our doctor was able to prescribe some antibiotics for me. I've drawn up some Excel sheets to work out what's going on with our guests. The wedding planner will appreciate this.
Anyway, I'm done typing. I'm beat and it's going to be an early night again.

Tuesday Wrap-UpTuesday, April 03, 2007
Met Erin, the wedding planner at Phipps. Worked out the layout for the ceremony.
After a brief stop at home, went over to Panera and wound up waiting for over a half hour before the florist finally showed up. Turns out that we'd forgotten to pick up the glass plates that we need to use as bases for our centerpieces.
We came home and crashed for a bit.
I finally got around to reviewing the Banquet Event Order (aka BEO) from the Doubletree. After figuring out what needed changed, I then got to work on figuring out how to reply to each of the many questions in the emails I'd received from them. This required me to rework the guest list spreadsheet, culling absent family and adding additional columns for more pertinent information. I wound up teaching myself a few more Excel macros in order to tabulate a few statistics on our guests and their meals.
The counting of guests lead to a overly-long discussion with Nat about whether we should give the remaining unused plated meals to some vendors. Since we didn't have enough plates for all vendor staff, it was a bit complicated politically, but we found a loophole. Since Nat's mom offered to cover the expenses (ulp!), we added video coverage of the ceremony late, which resulted in an additional dude from the camera people. He's late, so he gets stiffed.
Anyway I spent a lot of time working on a bunch of wedding paperwork and don't feel like going into it too much here. I had hoped to spend more time on the iMac working on XNA, but this week's schedule might not be very kind to that idea. Oh well, off to bed with my tired ass. Hopefully I'm only suffering from an onset of odd allergies and not some sort of nasal infection. Maybe I can get a quick scrip for antibiotics from my doctor tomorrow (I won't hold my breath)

Monday Wrap-Up
Man, having a sudden case of allergies sucks. My head's been threatening sinus flare-up all day. Thank God that you can get 300+ generic claritin at Costco for like $10. Anyway, I skipped biking due to that.
I spent most of the morning getting my taxes wrapped up. I have them all done and ready to pay, but I'm going to wait until Saturday in order to make sure that they fall onto my credit card's next pay period. There's just too much wedding to pay for right now.
After that I had some late lunch, and then it was time to take Natty to a doctor's appointment. On the way back, we wound up driving around for a bit, looking for a sushi place that was open. I got a blizzard at one of the stops. Eventually we found an open place and Natty picked up the tab.
Then we were home for only a short while to relax before the wedding planner showed up with her husband/assistant in tow. We met with her for two hours. I was surprised to find that it really wiped me out, but I feel a whole lot more confidant about the wedding now. Things are actually going to come off alright. Thank god we've got her.
Afterwards, I read for an hour, and then hopped on Xbox with Dave for 1.5 hours. Now I'm blogging, and now it's time for bed.

Sunday Wrap-UpSunday, April 01, 2007
Well, today's another day in my weekend of mental bankruptcy. I think that the wedding is burning my nerves out. Everybody's saying that everything's going to be alright, but my internal worries remain unquieted. I want everything to be planned out. I want every question answered that can be answered. I want all of the bits that can be done to be done.
Otherwise I'm just completely fucking dreading this thing.
*Sigh* The marriage is going to be great. Wedding? Not so much.
Anyway, I vacuumed, cleaned, took out trash and recycling. A few other housecleaning chores.
Nat's mother and sister dropped by for a good long while. Having them here made me feel better in the end, because answers to questions precipitated out.
Otherwise, I played too much Puzzle Quest. I'm not sure if I can echo everyone else around the internets about it being obsessively good. I'd think of it more as combining the aspects of "not too shabby" and "easy to lose track of time". Don't get me wrong: It's totally respectable and worth every penny. I think I got a little over-hyped. In the end, it's a fun little game that will have a place on my shelf as long as I'm playing DS, I'd say.
Anyway, I'm going to lie in bed playing it. I woke up late today, so I'm going to bed early. Tomorrow will include getting up at a good hour and being more productive. Perhaps XNA code will pour forth from my fingers. Lord knows physics have me scared, but there's gonna have to be a black-box function for handling physics, so I might as well implement a clunky solution now and then perhaps a more elegant one later.

Saturday Wrap-Up
Today was a relaxed day. Nat and I ran out to Robinson Town Centre area. We hit Ikea and a few other places. Aside from that I just took my ease today. Nat accomplished several of the favors, which was pretty cool, since I didn't want to do that. I should try to get more stuff wrapped up tomorrow.
